Rules And Stuff
1. Recording, Editing, or Mastering of two tracks or less runs $25/hr unless otherwise agreed upon.
2. Multitracking (defined as recording more than two mono or one stereo tracks simultaneously) rates are $35/hr unless otherwise agreed upon. Mixdown to 2 tracks runs $35/hr.
3. Live Recording at shows is significantly higher, especially in multitrack format ($100+ per hour), due to risks involved and equipment setup/considerations. I will do 2-track mic'd simple recordings or will record directly from your board in the digital format of your choice for about $50 per hour (much cheaper than multi-tracking) depending on length and location, etc. Please note that live Multitracking is a lot more expensive than a live stereo room recording.
4. Video Shoots are $35/hr per cameraman with on camera mics, and $50 per hour per cameraman/engineer if mixing boards and live mics are used.
5. All (on location) live work will require a 25-50% deposit up front. A $50 deposit will be required for in-house recording. If you want the Masters, you will be required to purchase an ADAT HD-24 compatible hard drive and caddy, and the Masters will not be turned over under any circumstances until your studio fees are PAID IN FULL. I can also render your Masters to a one track at a time data CD in .WAV format, if you don't wish to take them home on a hard drive. This will cost an additional $25/hr to make these, and you must supply your own media.
6. Please respect my property and equipment by not eating, drinking, smoking, etc around it. Eat at McDonald's or somewhere before coming over to record. And if it's a live gig, make sure the drunk guy that comes up and does the Elvis impersonation sit-in does not pour his beer in the monitors. Any equipment broken or trashed by you, your friends, enemies, or audience by accident, on purpose, or by negligence is your liability. If it breaks, you must pay for it. Sorry, but that's the only way I can stay in business.
7. You must supply your own media at all times. I cannot stay in business by giving away free CDR's, Minidiscs, DAT's, and other tapes, drives, etc.
8. If you do not pay your fees within a reasonable length of time, QuiteWright productions may destroy your Masters at our option to free up media for other clients. Every attempt will be made to contact you before this occurs. There is a very reasonable fee for storing a copy of your Master at our facility for archival and backup purposes, which is very practical in case of unforeseeable events causing you to lose/destroy your Masters.
9. I really do care about your music and video products, I want you to have a positive experience using my services. If there is anything I can do to help make your experience better, please do not hesitate to ask. I will go out of my way to accommodate your requests (if within reason of course!). Have fun recording and gigging!
